Let’s hear it for school spirit!
Students enjoy a full range of extracurricular activities at Biondi. The Varsity Lions Boys Team and Junior Varsity Lions Girls Team compete in high school basketball league play. Other sports offered include track, flag football, and volleyball.
Students make sure their voices are heard too. They elect representatives and serve in the Student Council. Students also are invited to join the Gay-Straight Alliance.
Anti-bullying efforts are an integral part of our culture. So many of our students have been victims of bullying that we have created an anti-bullying program called The Voice, a partnership between students and staff. Our student-led committee of teens convenes with trauma-informed counselors and teachers on a weekly basis. When students see someone being bullied, they follow protocol and take immediate action. We believe that we can reach our goal to have a bully-free campus.
Supporting diversity.
Teens of all different backgrounds and cultures attend Biondi, and we promote mutual respect for our myriad heritages. We support their identities through school wide celebrations, such as our month-long Hispanic Heritage Celebration in the fall. In February, we mark Black History Month with special assemblies and projects.
Biondi also works with the Coalition of Schools Educating Boys of Color (COSEBOC) to enhance our support for African-American male students. COSEBOC has a structured Rites of Passage curriculum that prepares male students for manhood by helping them visualize the men they will become: confident in their cultural identities and primed for academic and social success.
