CSE & Referrals
The Carol and Frank Biondi Education Center
Refer your student with confidence!
Committees on Special Education have referred students to the Biondi School for more than 20 years, and here’s why. We transform struggling students into confident, emotionally stable learners by surrounding them with the specific academic and therapeutic supports they need to meet their IEP goals.
We never give up on a child
Support for the high-need student
Our certified and licensed teachers and clinical staff have the experience and expertise to educate high-need students. We draw on an array of evidence-informed approaches and work with students and parents to set academic and socio-emotional goals. Because these goals are the students’, they are motivated to meet them.
We know each child.
A team of staff gets to know each child’s talents, triggers, strengths, and limits. We try to anticipate how the youth will behave, so if a student becomes frustrated, we can proactively intervene before an incident occurs. When necessary, the student will retreat with a crisis intervention specialist until the student is ready to rejoin his or her classmates.
Who to refer
The Biondi Elementary School in Yonkers is a day school that supports students K-6 with learning disabilities, emotional disorders, autism and/or other health impairments. The Biondi Middle and High School in Yonkers supports both residential and day students who have behavioral and emotional challenges, learning disabilities, autism, and/or other health impairments. Most of the students at both locations come from New York City, Westchester and Rockland counties, and Long Island.
